A petrol or diesel car that will not start is usually a flat 12V battery. We start it with a regulated lithium jump pack, which is safe for stop-start systems and modern ECUs, then test the battery before we leave.

Hybrids and electric cars still have a separate 12V battery. When it is flat the car will not unlock, wake or move — even with a full traction pack. We boost that 12V using the correct procedure for the make, from £59, across Birmingham 24/7.
